# Connect an AI assistant

> Search published Agentic Banking documentation from Cursor or another Model Context Protocol (MCP) client.

You don't need an API key to search from Cursor or another Model Context Protocol (MCP) client.

## Prerequisites

You need an MCP client that can connect to a remote server.

The documentation search endpoint is `https://agenticbanking.backbase.io/mcp`.

The following steps use Cursor. For another client, add this endpoint in that client's remote-server settings.

## Connect Cursor

To connect Cursor, follow these steps:

1. **Open MCP settings.** From the command palette, run **Open MCP settings**.

2. **Add a custom MCP server.** Select **Add custom MCP** and paste the following configuration:

   ```json theme={"system"}
   {
     "mcpServers": {
       "agenticbanking-search": {
         "url": "https://agenticbanking.backbase.io/mcp"
       }
     }
   }
   ```

   If the file already lists MCP servers, add `agenticbanking-search` beside the existing entries.

3. **Reload Cursor.**

## Search the documentation

Ask the assistant to search the documentation. For example: "Search the Agentic Banking docs for Sync Hub deployment."

The answer comes from published pages on this site. To try an API from the browser, use **Try it** in the [API playground](/banking-os-apis/api-playground).

If you want to give an agent access to banking tools in a Banking OS deployment, see [MCP support overview](/agentic-ai/mcp-support/overview).
