# Reference

> Configuration properties, operations, and error mapping for the FIS Cardbase Connector.

The FIS Cardbase integration issues debit and credit cards through FIS Cardbase and links them to deposit accounts. It includes a single outbound (synchronous) connector, `gc-fis-device-administration-connector`. Backbase configures it in `device-administration-v0.values.yaml`. The connector shares the `fis-connector-sdk` with the [FIS IBS connectors](https://agenticbanking.backbase.io/connectors/core-banking/fis-ibs/reference.md). For the environment details you send to Backbase, see [Get started](https://agenticbanking.backbase.io/connectors/card-management/fis-cardbase/get-started.md).

## Configuration properties

Configure the connector in `device-administration-v0.values.yaml`.

### Values to obtain from FIS

Obtain the following values from FIS and send them to your Backbase support team. Backbase sets them in `device-administration-v0.values.yaml`. These values are environment-specific, so they have no default.

| Property | Description |
| :- | :- |
| `fis.baseUrl` | Base URL of the FIS Cardbase environment. |
| `fis.organization-id` | Internal identifier for your financial institution within FIS. |
| `fis.source-id` | Identifier of the application invoking the API. |

### gc-fis-device-administration-connector

Set the following tunable properties in `device-administration-v0.values.yaml`.

| Property | Description | Default |
| :- | :- | :- |
| `encryptionRequired` | Enable encryption of sensitive request data sent to FIS. Named `encryptionRequired` rather than the `isEncryptionRequired` used by the FIS IBS connectors. | `true` |
| `errorTemplate` | Error mapping template file used to translate FIS errors. | `transform-fis-error-details.json` |
| `http.client.connection.max.per.route` | Maximum HTTP connections per route. | `200` |
| `http.client.connection.max.total` | Maximum total HTTP connections. | `200` |
| `retryFlag` | Enable automatic request retries on connection failure. | `false` |
| `redelivery.maximumRetries` | Maximum number of redelivery attempts. | `3` |
| `redelivery.delay` | Initial delay between redelivery attempts, in milliseconds. | `200` |
| `redelivery.backOffMultiplier` | Backoff multiplier for redelivery attempts. | `2` |

## SOPS secrets

The connector authenticates to FIS with OAuth2 and a custom `ibs-authorization` header. Obtain the following credentials from FIS. Backbase stores them in a SOPS secret.

| Credential | Description |
| :- | :- |
| `client-id` | Public key generated by FIS for OAuth2 token generation. |
| `client-secret` | Secret shared by FIS for OAuth2 token generation. |
| `ibs-authorization` | Authorization value carrying the RACF ID (Resource Access Control Facility user identifier) and password used by FIS for authentication and access control. |

## Supported operations

The FIS Cardbase Connector exposes the Banking OS Unified API for card number generation, card issuing, and account linking. For the operation-to-endpoint table, see [Overview](https://agenticbanking.backbase.io/connectors/card-management/fis-cardbase/overview.md). For the full contract, see the [API playground](https://agenticbanking.backbase.io/banking-os-apis/api-playground.md).

## Events

This connector is synchronous and doesn't publish or consume events.

## Error mapping

The connector maps FIS error codes to Banking OS status codes using the shared `transform-fis-error-details.json` template. For the full list, see [Error codes](https://agenticbanking.backbase.io/banking-os-apis/error-codes.md).

## Dependencies

* FIS Cardbase REST API (outbound), reachable at `fis.baseUrl`.
* FIS OAuth2 token endpoint (outbound), for Bearer token authentication.
* `fis-connector-sdk` (shared HTTP configuration, request encryption, and FIS error code mapping).
