# API playground

> Browse Grand Central unified API specifications by CalVer

Grand Central unified APIs define a vendor-neutral contract between the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform and connectors. Each connector implements one or more of these specifications. You use the same interface for each capability, no matter which core banking system or third-party vendor the connector uses.

Select a card to open the documentation for a unified API service. Each service page shows endpoints, request and response schemas, and example payloads.

The **Latest** CalVer release tracks the `grandcentral-api-bom` snapshot. Each API in that release has its own specification version. If an API did not change from the previous BOM, Latest keeps the same OpenAPI file.

The service cards open the latest CalVer for each API. To open an earlier CalVer, select a service card, then choose the CalVer from the drop-down list. Use the sidebar to browse APIs in each domain. Older releases include fewer services. Some APIs, for example Cross Channel Customer Workbench, appear only in later CalVer releases.

  When you select **Try it** on a service page, the call goes to the live playground mock for that API's major version. The mock does not use a snapshot of the CalVer you selected. Responses are sample data. They can differ from the examples on an older CalVer page.

    Evaluate fraud risk during account opening and transaction processing. The API response includes risk scores. The `riskIndicators` field lists matched fraud signals. The `decisionFlag` field gives the vendor-recommended action (`Allow`, `Block`, `Challenge`, or `Quarantine`).

    Manage identity verification and customer onboarding. You can create applicants, get identity verification results, download documents, and screen customers against global watchlists. Watchlists cover sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), adverse media, and anti-money laundering (AML). The API also supports Confirmation of Funds (CoF) consent management.

It adds remittance information, regulatory reporting, foreign exchange (FX) contract tracking, and structured address formats.
