Follow the steps in Get started with connectors before proceeding. The Open Banking connectors cover UK (Open Banking Limited) and EU (Berlin Group) integration with Salt Edge and the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform. Salt Edge access: An active contract with Salt Edge, with accounts and credentials for Salt Edge services.
Open Banking connectors can run separate connector instances for retail and business lines of business.
Callers select the line of business by sending the Open-Banking-Lob HTTP header on each request to the Banking OS Unified API. Supported values are RETAIL and BUSINESS. Ask your Backbase support team to enable line-of-business routing when you need both instances. The following table describes the routing behavior.

Prepare the connector

Backbase deploys this connector. To provide the environment details, follow these steps:
  1. Send Salt Edge details to Backbase. Send the Salt Edge App-Id, App-Secret, and base URL to your Backbase support team. Do this for the UK integration, the Berlin Group integration, or both.
  2. Request the Engagement Banking Platform connection. Create a ticket with the Managed Hosting team to set up a private link for the Engagement Banking Platform environment. After that link exists, ask your Backbase support team to configure the connection from Banking OS. The Engagement Banking Platform team then updates their policies to allow traffic over the private link. You receive the URL that Banking OS uses to reach the platform.
